Save yourself the trouble of having to make up and sterilise your own agar supplies. These are made fresh for each order for absolute freshness. The petri dishes are triple-vented plastic disposables intended for single use and are not suitable for re-use. Once poured and set, the petri dish edges are sealed with parafilm (as shown in the photo) prior to preparing for dispatch.
These pre-poured agar plates provide an ideal environment for growth and examination of a wide range of living organisms, from spores developing into mycelium through to bacteria and other spore type and can be used in many forms of microscopy research.
For best results agar needs to be used as soon as possible and should be kept in a cool place to prolong life if you’re not using it immediately. Please note that condensation is always likely to occur when there a temperature difference exists between the agar in the petri dishes and the surrounding air.
Note:
All agar petri dishes are made to order, which means a lead time (between date or order and date of dispatch) of 2-4 days should be expected on all agar orders. Orders are dispatched using Royal Mail Tracked services.
