Description
Lion’s Mane Mycelium – Colonised agar dishes ready for you to use or clone. Lion’s Mane mushrooms are not only great to eat, they also offer a lot of potential health benefits. They can be eaten or used as supplements and have been used in Chinese medicine for centuries. They’re also one of the most distinctive looking mushrooms you’ll come across; large, white, shaggy mushrooms that resemble a lion’s mane as they grow.
This listing is for one colonised 90mm agar plate with live Lion’s Mane mycelium, sealed with parafilm to keep the contents sterile.
Your colonised agar should be kept in a fridge until ready to be used, at which time leave them at room temperature for 24 hours prior to use. They cannot be frozen and should be kept in darkness. Once opened, the agar dishes will be exposed to non-sterile air and so should be handled only in a protective environment such as a still air box or, ideally, in front of a laminar flow hood. Never touch the agar or mycelium with anything that has not been properly sterilised. If not fully used, and assuming they have been protected from floating contaminants, fresh parafilm can be used to reseal the petri dish. The original tape cannot be re-used.
When working with agar, either while doing agar to grain inoculation or agar to agar transfers be sure that you are familiar with and follow strict sterile working techniques. Recommended max storage time 2 months.
